First Impressions
Appearance
Adrian is 28 years old, 5'7, and has a slim/athletic build. His skin is pitch black at the edges of his extremities and the top of his head, and graduates to the normal brown. One of his eyes is gold, with an enlarged iris and no pupil, and the other is fully black with with visibly dark veins around it. When experiencing extremes of emotion, such as anger or embarrassment, his golden freckles glow noticeably and his halo might become briefly visible.
Fashion
Adrian is always fully covered from the neck down, including gloves, regardless of the weather. He heavily favors white or neutral/earth tones in his clothing. His staples are cloaks, suits, and high collars if he can find them but he will prioritize wearing anything that covers the maximum amount of skin. Usually very neatly kept to the point of being a bit fussy. If he has the option, he will choose clothing that's loose-fitting but tailored well enough to allow him to move easily without it getting in the way. When it's unbearably hot, he might wear a sheer or lace overshirt.
Demeanor & Attitude
Tends to fade into the background whenever he can and generally doesn't want to be perceived. He's polite and friendly, but distant, and often very guarded about extremes of emotion. When meeting people for the first time, they tend to get his customer service personality, but he warms up very quickly and has a calming and sincere presence. Even so, he always keeps at least a few feet of physical distance between himself and others unless he's examining them.Don't let this fool you. Once he becomes close friends with someone, he will be their primary source of stress as he proceeds to show off his incredibly non-existent self-preservation instincts and probably does dark magic to protect them whether they want that or not.
Voice
His natural speaking voice is deeper than people might expect but very soothing. He sounds Generic High Fantasy British..... Look, sometimes you make choices five years in the past because you never thought you'd bring a tabletop OC into dreamwidth RP.Undead creatures & people who can sense evil click here
The ground around him (within 5ft) is desecrated ground. There's no visible indicator of this, it's just vibes. It's entirely up to you if this leaves any discernible impression at all for your character. Undead creatures might feel more invigorated on desecrated ground, or simply feel more at home. Those who can sense evil will sense it from Adrian (because of his warlock pacts, though they might not immediately realize this).

☆ BRACKETS/PROSE: Brackets, but I'll match prose. ☆ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & CONTENT WARNINGS: None of this is likely to come up unprompted in a thread but I've included a general list below. D&D in general has more of them but it's about in par with the kind of thing you'd see in the average adult high-fantasy book.
General content warnings for the Curse of Strahd campaign
Child abuse and neglect, emotional and physical abuse towards vulnerable adults, murder and attempted murder, including that of children, kidnapping, stalking, gaslighting, abuse of power, racism, sexism, cruelty, torture, references to colonialism and genocide, mutilation, mind control, the desecration of the dead and of places of worship, cannibalism, including involuntary cannibalism, mercy killing, situations paralleling sexual assault, parental death, child death, reference to stillbirth/miscarriage, partner death, mental illness and the mistreatment of the mentally ill, maladaptive grieving behaviors, starvation and food horror, cruelty to animals, prolonged and painful deaths, body horror, transformation against ones will, insects and infestation horror, abandonment, including child abandonment, betrayal, including partner and parental betrayal, consumption of alcohol including portrayals of alcoholism, involuntary homicide, graphic depictions of death and violence, implied necrophilia, self harm, suicide and victim blaming. For Adrian specifically, the main ones are: survivor's guilt, body horror, reckless self-endangerment, very occasional passive suicidal ideation, violations of bodily autonomy (non-sexual), thoughts/mentions of cannibalism, and general gore.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns! I am always happy to avoid specific topics with no questions asked.
☆ BACKTAGGING: Yes please! I'm kind of a slow tagger.
☆ THREADHOPPING: Yup, that's fine.
☆ FOURTHWALLING: If people want to mention that d&d exists in their worlds and recognize the names of monsters/classes/etc that's totally fine — the multiverse is a big, weird place! However, please refrain from going into details about the contents of the Curse of Strahd module (though mentioning Strahd himself as an entity that exists in d&d is fine). Basically, you can do as much as you want with 'a fictionalized version of your world exists in mine' but try not to go so far as 'you, specifically, are a fictional character.'
☆ NOT INTERESTED IN: I know it's a little hard to tell because of a combination of his icons and his little birthday boy energy so I don't consider this offensive or anything but please don't call him kid/boy icly. He could pass for early 20s at best. He definitely does not look like a teenager. (You can have a special senior pass to do this if your character is over 100 years old and/or just does that to everyone. It's okay I have also played exactly That Type.)
Otherwise, no real life slurs or general racist remarks/allusions. I will immediately drop any thread that veers into that territory. If you want to engage with this topic specifically for some character-relevant reason, please do it with someone else as I'm not interested at this time. (Purely fantastical racism/prejudice, like if your character hates non-humans or magic users or whatever, is totally fine!)

☆ PHYSICAL INFORMATION: Adrian's right eye is fully black with some dark/visible veins around the socket. Left eye has a large gold iris with no visible pupil. He has a ton of little golden freckles all over his body, concentrated on the bridge of his nose. When he's feeling particularly strong emotions, they may start glowing, and extremes of emotion may cause his halo to become visible briefly.☆ PHYSICAL TOUCH: You can and should! OOC I'm not opposed to this. Adrian will immediately flinch away if he's not friendly/familiar with them though he won't take offense if it's obviously well-meaning.
He'll go out of his way to avoid any attempted skin-to-skin contact since it's likely to inflict a magical poison that he has no control over. (His touch acts as a contagion spell.) How your character might be affected by this, if at all, is entirely up to you, and can change with every touch! (That's the nice thing about these abilities being a dice roll.)
☆ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Yup, that's fine! He's fresh from vampire land so he's pretty accustomed to it.
☆ PSYCHICS/PSYCHIC ABILITIES: Consider this blanket permission to just go for it. He has no particular defenses, so it's fine to read his mind, though he probably won't be thrilled about it if he finds out. If your character can manipulate emotions or control other characters, just let me know what the effect is in your prose and I'll likely just roll with it, or DM you if we need to sort something out! I'm trusting people to be chill and reasonable.
☆ RELATIONSHIPS: LAUGHS... Adrian has not dated anyone or even seriously thought about it but I think it would be fun for him to stumble into something! He's a noble so for most of his life he sort of expected to be married for political reasons, if that, but not much else.
☆ MAGICAL INFORMATION: As a warlock, he's bonded to otherworldly entities who provide him with the bulk of his magical abilities. If that's something you want your character to sense in some way, go for it! These entities are specifically an angel (his primary/original warlock patron), a vampire (Strahd commandeered his patron pact against his will when he entered Barovia), and a death god (choices were made).
☆ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: This isn't really a thing anymore but he used to try to keep his aasimar heritage under wraps partly because aasimar, as Champions of Good and all that, are like Tasty Treat #1 to demons and the like... but for Adrain it's mostly because he has a lot of issues around failing to live up to his 'blessing'. While he doesn't necessarily mind talking about it at this point, he still retains a lot of old ingrained habits around trying to hide it and tends to be a little bitter/self-deprecating about it.
